Intervista casalinga con Pino Forastiere

Erano anni che volevo fare un’intervista a Pino, ma per il fatto di essere sposati la cosa non marcava bene. Un giorno  però mi sono alzata pensando “ma anche un po’ chissenefrega”, perciò l’ho piazzato davanti  al microfono, e questo è quanto:  

S: Vorrei iniziare l’intervista parlando di musica. A volte mi è sembrato che il tuo virtuosismo strumentale finisse per prevalere sull’aspetto compositivo. O no?

P: Onestamente, non credo che sia così. Innanzi tutto, non sta a me definirmi virtuoso; e poi ho sempre cercato di usare la mia tecnica al servizio della musica. Il punto è che la fruizione della musica tende ad andare verso l’osservazione delle cose non ordinarie, delle bizzarrie…

It's been years that I've wanted to interview Pino, but the fact that we are married has made it a little difficult. One day, however, I woke up thinking, “well, who cares?”, so I sat him down in front of the microphone, and this is what happened:

S: I'd like to start the interview talking about music. At times it has seemed to me that your instrumental virtuosity has ended up overshadowing your compositional side. What do you think?

P: Honestly, I don't think so. First of all, it's not up to me to define myself as a virtuoso; and secondly, I have always tried to use my technique in service of the music. The fact is that the fruition of music tends to lean towards observing extraordinary things, bizarre things...
